I've nearly finished Rebecca, and am still in two minds about the collar.
It's sewn up, but needs washing to even out the knitting. I'll save that for a sunny day!
If I was a AAA cup, this very high collar would probably look quite good, but with my low slung bust, and the ribbing, I look like one of those surgically enhanced models from Sunday Sport! I may still frog this collar and re-adjust.
A very bad shot of Rebecca, unblocked, photo taken in a gloomy flat on a gloomy day, with a digital camera that's over 4 years old and has seen better days. (I also took one with much better light, and the colour looked pretty similar, so I've opted for the indoor shot)
I've finished sock #1 for Alf
Other than that, I've been knitting away on the ribbed swing jacket. Has anyone knitted this? The sample we saw went down a treat with everyone who saw it, but I think I'm the only one who'll be knitting this mega-jacket. It looks really really wide, but I suppose it's a swing jacket and needs to swing. I've decreased 50sts, another inch to go and then I start knitting on smaller needles. There's another 50st decrease, then raglan, my favourite, shaping.
(That's Rebecca in more natural light in the corner).
Looks pretty much the same as Thursday's post, but it's now 10 inches in length. As it's now 2x2 rib, which is much more automatic for me than 3x2 rib, I can read and knit, hooray!
Worked 1cm on Agnes this morning, and another 6 rows of the Shoalwater shawl. No photos of these, hardly worth it until they're a bit further on.
Sockapalooza - still not started this! I'm still undecided on either a patterned fairisle sock, or a textured sock. I spent last night googling for great sock patterns (as if I haven't enough) but am uninsired by everything I've looked at. One of designs I'm considering is something that my pal is doing also! What a coincidence! I'm not sure if I should go ahead and do a similar design, or work something entirely different from that which she usually knits. (Hope that's vague enough, though I doubt she reads this blog).
I've had a quick glance at my January aims, and I'm slipping! One day to go, and I've not
started sockapalooza sock
finished one mitred sock
finished the back of Agnes.
Bad Dawn! Too much indecision! I'll be rectifying these grave errors in February. Must finish Agnes before the summer!
Well, the bread's baked (courtesy of Chris and a breadmaker), the beetroot soup's cooking (me, yes I make great beetroot/cabbage/veg soup) and I have the whole afternoon now to knit, so I'm off to knit a few more inches of the swing jacket and a couple more rows of Shoalwater shawl.
