It's been a while
since I posted, I've been so busy! Not much knitting done again, though.
I've managed to finish one sock and one mitten, start knitting the final sleeve of Suzette.
I've been a bit distracted. Those of you who know me personally know that I've been temporarily staying in SW London whilst my normal abode is treated for various stuff. So when I post pictures of stash, it's been the Work stash, or SW stash, but the majority has been packed away. Not any more! We've spent several days this week trying to sort through things. How come it took only a weekend to pack everything up , but it's taking a lot longer to unpack??????? I also want to ultimately have my stash in one place, and here is tiny, so I'll be moving the stash and knitting books which are overcrowding our living space into the other flat. We'll probably flit between two places until we sort out something else, hopefully soon.
I have resisted opening any yarn boxes. Here's some (not all, there's other boxes and under the bed stuff!!)
I'm sure that one of those blue bags is packed with noro!
Even peering into a bin bag of woollies, I spy some knitted but not photographed garments.
I can see a slipped stitch cardigan, from a Knitters magazine, the grey fluffy thing is a Sleeves in your Pi, the cream thing is a knitted gansey (that weighs a tonne), and the red and brown moss stitch thing is a Jaeger jacket! Oh, the lilac piece is a Violets by the River unblocked shawl!
Chris found a half finished sock stuffed under the sofa cushion, needleless
Lovely colours, I must have needed the needles.
I couldn't help peeking inside just one box, and found more half finished socks.
(apologies for the out of focus shot)
And.... two pairs of completed socks, which will be Christmas presents!
Wool / Cotton in a small woman's size.
And of course, I couldn't resist putting all the yarn in this box on a table and taking a quick photo before locking up.
Look at that yummy yarn, all from one box!! I feel my Christmas knitting plans falling by the wayside! Seriously though, I thought that I'd start listing the stash, and see just how much I have. A bit of a scary thought. I've two useful programmes (which I hardly use at the moment): knitAble and HanDBase which are suitable for Stash Documentation. I will see. It might be too big a job!

I love that picture... it just makes me want to dive right into all that sock yarn

Incredible - a whole flat of stash! I admire your will power in not diving right in.

Wow!!! That's what I call a stash! You've got a lot of knitting lined up to finish all this... or are you planning to acquire more???

That's so funny. I had to take a second look at the needleless Opal half sock as,in my bedside draw, there's a needleless half sock in that exact same yarn ! I'll photograph it tomorrow as proof. Mine hasn't reached the heel yet. I like the yarn too,so I'm not sure why it was abandoned.

Lost and found treasures. Flitting between places sounds rather tiring, so take care and have fun documenting the stash.

I've never seen such a lovely pile of socks and sock yarn. You are clearly Mistress of the Socks. I haven't mastered socks yet, but disgracefully have stashed 6 balls, when I can't even knit them. That's worse than you.

Is blue or anything in a blue tone your favourite colour? You could keep SW London in nice socks for ages to come. I keep telling my husband that I need a fiber room, he better prepare when I tell him about the stash flat.
Tell us if you manage to make a stash list, I am sure you can then teach us all how it is done.
Keep knitting.
Love, Karin

Suzette is really moving along. Have you liked woking on it? I love the pile of sock yarn. Looks good to me!!!! Now, how do you store your yarn?

I HAVE to have that Opal yarn from the partial sock. Would you mind checking the band for the colorway numbers? Thank you in advance!!!
