What better way to end March than to blog a yellow shawl?
The yarn is Yarn Yard, and the colour is Cornflakes, but I have no idea of the base - I think it might be Clan, as it was in a bag with two other shades which were Clan.
It's a shallow, crescent shaped shawl, using 400yards or so of yarn. I chose a 4ply weight, but of course you can knit it in any weight or yardage, though a small yardage will produce a smaller scarf. There's a pecentage given in the pattern, so you won't run out of yarn, not a great idea on long rows! I took this home with me last week, for a family visit, and it fell off the needles in transit, so I had to frog right back to the garter stitch and reknit the owls, not fun but quicker than me fiddling about trying to pick up stitches,, especially on cabled rows.
There's really only four fiddly rows. three cable rows and one placing beads row. Not difficult but it does slow you down when you've been mindlessly knitting garter stitch!
Love the owls.
Ravelry link to pattern here. Thanks Yvonne for introducing me to Stitchnerd patterns!
