I can't believe another two weeks has gone by. I fully intended to blog early last week, but had decided to take time off to go home for a fmaily visit, and ran out of time.
I didn't even have time to sort out what knitting I'd take with me and ended up only taking some sock yarn and my Icefields cardigan. Still, not much knitting done! I have a very active and inquisitive 18 month old niece. Knitting stayed in my bag, behind the chair every time they popped in. Her elder siblins are so calm in comparison!
Icefields - good and bad news.
The bad news - my tension is way off and it's a bit big. I've decreased some stitches near the bottom and will wear it as a cozy cardigan rather than one with not much ease!
The good news is that I've finished the body and just need to do the seleves.
The bad news is that i'm a bit worried aobut running out of yarn. I have about 150g of dk left. Will this be enough?? Thankfully they're top down.
The other bad bit of news is that the bottom of the body (20 rows of garter stitch) is TERRIBLE. I had it on shorter needles, and kept putting it down mid row. There's at least half a dozen dropped stitches and I had to just pick them up on do a reverse stocking stitch pick up as no crochet hook! I may well redo this part. Let's see how the yardage goes on the sleeves.
I've also started som dk socks, just of mindless knitting. I'm goint to try the heel from the pattern Vanilla is the new black. Mindless knitting.
I'm still looking at cowls, resisting casting on unti I have a bit more sock knitted and the sleeve established.
And that's it, no cowls cast on (yet), soooon!
