Am I rubbish or what at post titles? I swear one day that I'll just stick a pin in a dictionary and use that word. I'm also baaaad at blogging - just one post last week. I'd really like to stick to a mid- week and a weekend post, which gives me a little bit of time to knit inbetween blogging! Dunno how other bloggers manage to do any knitting!
Cashmere scarf FO!
I finished the cashmere scarf last night, a very relaxing knit (the yarn behaved very well; neither too fine nor too thick). It's a small neck scarf, the sort that you tuck into your coat and is soft, soft, soft. Pressie from Yvonne for Christmas. Warning : unblocked and a quick photo tonight!
It leaves a space in my WIP list! What to start? More lace?
Or make a start on my Sockapaloozers socks?
I wonder if anyone else is having problems choosing what to knit for this exchange? I'd like to do something a little bit different from my usual plain, can-knit-whilst-asleep socks. I can't even decide on the yarn at the moment. (
I thought I'd try to guess who my secret sockapaloozer is and started reading lots of the participants blogs, but there were so many! And no guarantee that my partner is a blogger! So I've given up on that idea for the moment ** ( but if s(he) is reading this, I'm not fussy! They can be any thickness yarn (within reason) and any colour. I have superwash and handwash socks, so no probs there either)**
The DB Rebecca jumper is coming along slowly. One sleeve finished, about 1/3 of the second sleeve done. I either need an exciting film (I knit faster) or a good book to read to get going on this. It's....... simple, not enough stimulus for just-knitting. (another quick photo). I'm just looking at the sleeve now, it has set in sleeve shaping, and the depth looks awfully small. I'm off to measure my row tension!
Commuter knitting (the dk mexiko sock) is non-existant. Everyone is back to work or school, and the tubes are packed. I managed to grab a seat this morning for 10 mins, this is the first time this week. Our moscow office emailed today to ask if we were alright (as in healthy) because they'd heard that we were having a flu epidemic in London. Makes me want to walk to work!
Hi Dawn
I'm having a hard time deciding on a pattern for Sockapalooza too. I want to do something a bit different, but not so different that I get in a complete mess. The scarf looks lovely - look forward to seeing it blocked.
