Five months in the knitting, and finally off the needles! This shawl very nearly morphed into UFO status several times. This project has been a struggle right from the beginning for me. I don't know why; the pattern is great, the yarn (Jamieson's Ultra) is great - maybe it's because I've recentlly completed a shawl in this yarn AND I've already knitted the Falling Leaves shawl, which is another one with a repetative pattern.
Proof positive that it's finished; I just need to block the thing now. I love seeing the transformation of lace once it's blocked, but the blocking itself remains a yucky process for me - all that pinning out. Soon!
Next on the shawl list is the Swallowtail shawl from Fall 06 IK. I've already started this one, and am halfway through the first pattern repeat, dreading the nupps! Yvonne's finished her, let's badger her for photos!
Look forward to seeing it in all its pointy edged prettiness. This shawl is one of my fave shawl patterns. I have not knitted the swallow tail yet, but it is defintely on the to-do list :)

Look forward to seeing the shawl blocked. I'm motoring away on the Swallowtail now - the nupps aren't too bad if you keep them very loose. Otherwise the pattern is very simple to follow and quick as well.

Gorgeous shawl - well done for going back to it! I used your tip for the three-needle bind-off on the bolero this time - much better as the seams were hard to get right last time! I plan to knit it again and will probably knit the sleeves downwards too, as you recommended!

Shawl looks lovely, wish I could knit lace..... I'm having another go at that bolero too, doing it the way you did, in one up to arm-holes.

I can't wait to see it blocked! Good for you for sticking with it. I am dragging my feet on Icarus right now, maybe this is the push I need to get going on mine.

Glad to see it finished but don't rush me with the Swallowtail - I've still got 10 rows to go!

Wow I'm sure it will look even more fantastic when blocked. Well Done!!! x

Oh, this shawl is so absolutely beautiful - a real piece of art already, and I can't wait to see it all blocked, it's going to be really stunning! Great job!
