Finished! This was a very quick knit; Ca'd'Oro is a chunky yarn which isn't too bad to knit with. I normally stick to Aran or DK weight.
Knitting time: less than a week
Ends sewn in and buying buttons: more like a month.
This is a lovely cardigan/jacket, with 3/4 flared sleeves. I think it'll look nicer over a long sleeved garment. Good Spring wear.
The worst part was the fiddly button loops; just a crocheted chain, but it's more ends to sew in. Scroll down to the last photo to see the wonderful buttons which match so well.
Pattern: Isola from Louisa Harding's Una Volta book.
Started: December 07
Finished: January 08
Yarn: Louisa Harding's Ca'd'Oro, 12.5 balls.
Needles:6mm (pattern recommends 7mm)
Buttons: Look!! They match exactly! I bought these in Libertys, can't believe my luck as this was the first shop I tried. Very pleased.
Oh, lovely! Oddly enough, my next-up project is a snug little cardigan with moss stitch bands, to be knit in Jamieson's Soft Shetland. A few design details to differ, though. Can I ask - did you have any gauge issues in switching between the moss stitch and the stockinette? My guess is that the neck band, at least, may have been knit on smaller needles, but I've been wondering how much I might need to account for this in my design...

Love the colour and the sleeves. And the buttons are just brilliant, could have been made for it.

That's such a lovely cardi and in a shade I'd very much pick too! I like it when the little details like buttons fit in nicely with the garment. Well Done!

What a nice cardigan. The colour is sumptuous.
Anything fatter than aran yarn and corresponding needles and I'm generally not comfortable with my knitting. The rule of thumb in this house is 4-ply rules OK.

Great colour, I love the matching buttons. I normally steer clear of chunky wool, but less than a week to knit a garment sounds pretty good!

Love the colour you choose and what a great match.
The yarn looks great. Can't wait to start knitting with mine.
Hope to see a photo of you wearing Isola, or did you knit her for someone else.

Excellent colours in the jacket and the buttons are absolutely spot on!
I like the shape too - it's a very pretty jacket.
