Slowly but surely.
Last week I finished the right front. Last weekend I picked it up to finish the collar.
The border stitches were put on hold when the front shaping was started.
I hadn't thought that this would mean the dreaded attached border, which I loathe.
But thankfully, it's not the most dreaded 'until slightly stretch'. This is 'unstretched', i.e. row to row seaming!
A doddle.
These were taken on Sunday, in daylight. I've spent the last few evenings sewing the seams, not easy when it's purple and nighttime. I've all the ends to sew in, plus a few inches on one side (too lazy to do it last night). Knitting the collar is going to take a while, as it's not grown since Sunday afternoon. I doubt I'll get it finished in April now. But I'm determined not to start any other garments until this is finished. I'm trying to be as disciplined with my garment knitting as with my sock knitting - I hardly ever have more than one pair of socks on the needles at one time.
This hasn't stopped me casting on some lace though! Norwegian Woods, which, conveniently, has a knitalong just started on Yahoo groups. More details later (when I manage to take a photo and I have something to photograph, I've just started the first chart). Did I mention that I'm also knitting a baby cardigan? Very quick, dk weight, for a 3 month size, this is commuting/lunchtime knitting, in lieu of plain socks. More when I take photos, though the rate it's going I'll have it finished in a day or two, just have the sleeves and collar to knit now. Better hurry up, the Mystery Blanket package will be here in t he next few days!
