Apologies for the lack of blogging. I can't believe it's been nine days! I went away last weekend, and then we had the horrendous weather here in London (not too bad, but our transport system ground to a halt, and I didn't get home until 9.45pm), then it was food shopping for Christmas, then office drinks ... you get the idea.
I've finished a few things over this past week, just have to find them and take some photos. But I managed to finish my Reindeer Games socks and wore them yesterday for Christmas.
Pattern: Reindeer Socks
Started: 7th December
Finished: 19th December
Needles: 2.5mm
Yarn: I think it was Stahl solids (lost the labels) - it was part of a sock club kit.
Once I got going these were a quick knit. A patterned sock always seems to go faster than a plain sock, just another row!
I made a few mistakes, and fully intended to swiss darn over the mistakes, but you know how it is, once they were off the needles I didn't bother. Hindsight is a great thing, and if I'd thought about it I might have reversed the pattern so my reindeer were symmetrical, but there you go.
I hope everyone had a happy Christmas yesterday. We stay in, just the two of us, stuffing our faces and having a bit to drink. I received lots of knitting things - books, yarn and even jewellery! Chris knew I wanted earrings, so he went out of his way to buy me not one but three pairs. One pair are knitted balls (with matching necklace), another are yarn balls with knitting needles and the third pair are enamel ones (fairly tame). Good job I love my knitting!
Great socks!
Merry Christmas from DownUnder :)
