I've been sticking to a few small things. Not sure how long this will last though! I have a hankering for another garment. (Don't mention Vine Yoke, still waiting for buttons of course.)
FO #1 Darkside Cowl (free ravelry download)
Started 27th, finished 28th December, using 4mm needles.
The yarn is Lorna's Laces Lion & Lamb, a gorgeous silk/wool blend. It's been in my stash for a few years, partly because it's a single skein and I didn't know what to knit, and it's variegated. Cowls to the rescue! I originally tried a lace cowl, but the lace was lost in this colour. This pattern's just great for the yarn. It's smooshy and soft, and although the pattern isn't as obvious as it would be with a solid shade, I like the finished project.
FO #2 Another Forest Canopy Cowl using Handmaiden's Cashmere.
Started 13th, finished 16th (approx!) December with 3.5mm needles. Yarn is absolutely gorgeous. Another one hanging around in stash because it was too nice to knit with!
And finally, FO#3. Wine and Roses Mitts.
Another quick project.
Started 22nd, finished 25th December, using 2.25mm needles and Fyberspates Alpaca sock yarn.
Now this yarn didn't start out as mitts. I wanted to knit the Hoar Frost Cowl by Ann Hanson, but it wasn't going smoothly and I hated yarn/pattern combination. Miraculously I have now found the ideal yarn for this pattern - a light blue solid Koigu! It's knitting up like a dream; the pattern 'awkwardness' has disappeared, and I reckon I'll have one more FO before the year is out!
You've been busy - what a lovely collection of knitted goodies! I tried the Darkside pattern before Christmas but the texture didn't show up anywhere as well as yours. Had to 'adapt' the pattern to suit a little....
Hope that you've had a lovely Christmas? Happy New Year to you and yours!
