Not one but two FOs. These were both such quick knits!
Pattern: Waffle Mittens from 60 Quick Knits
Started: 20th February,
Finished:21st February - really!
Yarn: Classic Elite Tapestry, bright pink, 76g.
A very easy pattern, though there were several errors, silly little things which might not be noticed. Still, it annoys me.
1) increasing instructions - M or P. M is a knit increase, and P is a purl increase. But instructions give the purl inc for both M and P.
2) Pattern row 3 and 4 should read: k1, (p2, k2) to last 3 sts, p2, k1. Otherwise it's not a 2x2 ribbing, but a 2x1 ribbing.
3) After taking the thumb sts off you continue in pattern, not st st.
All easily missed, but someone who is a beginner knitter might not realise. Doesn't bode well for the other 59 patterns!
Overall a quick fun knit though. This is my third pair for 11mittensfor2011.
Pattern: Mock Cable Wristers from 60 Quick Knits
Started: 22nd February (with trepidation!)
Finished: 24th February.
Yarn: Cascade Heathers 220, 37g
Mods: Did a twisted 1x1 ribbing at cuffs, top and bottom. Didn't notice any errors in this pattern, apart from omitting how to increase in rev st st. I usually do mirrored increases, but one type looked horrible, so I just did normal purl, picking up the thread from back to front and purling it.
This is my third fingerless mitt patternf for fgf11in2011kal.
I've already picked out some patterns fro March, for both mittens and fingerless gloves. I'm doing one more mitten in aran weight (possilby two!) as I have two double knit mitten patterns, in 4ply, which I want to include in the 11 for 2011 - and these will take me a lot of time! I'll be knitting a dk and a sportweight pair of fingerless gloves, ready for the rush of 4ply patterns I've been saving up. Roll on March!
both designs are very nice. pink ones be lovely and bright on a dull day.
can empathise about pattern typos. agree that a novice knitter would not be happy.
