I've joined two KALs this month, in the Stash Knit Down group on ravelry (although I have no intention of going Cold Sheep - just trying to use up some oddballs)
The first KAL is a Hatathon. Knit 26 hats for a full Hatathon, or 13 hats for a half Hatathon.
Whoa! Only very deditcated knitters would manage that! So we have teams, and I'm in one. I've said that I'd knit five hats. I've knitted them all now, finished the last one off last night, but no photos yet.
Here's the frist four.
1) Ruskin. Using old Jaeger EFM Aran, in a bright cherry red.
This is the sort of hat which would look far better on a baby's head than on the table!
2) Maple Syrup usign Skein Queen Voluptuous in Denim. Love this yarn.
3) Hadley using oddballs. The colours are not as contrasting in real life.
4) Varykino using Skein Queen Voluptuous again.
These haven't been washed yet. I like to wash them so that the stitches even out, and sometimes they might need a blocking/shaping (thinking of berets in particular),
rhe second KAL is Great Mad Dash. Knit 12000 yards in six weeks! Of course we have teams, and I'm in one! Some very brave knitters are going for Solo!
So far I've only knitted about 200 yards but fully intend doing some serious yardage busting by going with double stranding!
