Shawl knitting continues. Not much knitting done either. I managed Saturday knitting and an hour on Sunday (because of stash rummaging, of course!)
I can't remember which shawls I've mentioned, so I'll mention them all.
ASSANI SHAWL #3 of TSS. This was the Saturday knitting, I FINISHED IT! It's a crumpled orange heap at the moment. Plucking up courage to block it. Now the weather's turning it takes longer to dry, so I need to do this very early one morning (as I block on rthe bed!)
This is a shawl!
WAVY BIAS
A Stitchnerd pattern. It's been in my Library for a few years and I have this lovely soft Louise Hardibg Kimono Pure to knit, Sadly it's on the back burner whilst I concentrate on the MKAL and TSS shawls, but only because I have no time constraints!
AMULET SHAWL
I've restarted this with different yarn (I was susing the yarn from Asani). I have not idea what the yarn is, but it's a merino. I'm still on the garter stitch section, with a few rows knitted over the weekend,
QUILL SHAWL
This is the fourth shawl of TSS and I'm playing catch up. Next one due in the first week of October. This is a DK striped shawl, very easy after beads and lace. I'm saving it for those times when I want indless knitting, I'm using Felted Tweed shash. It's a miracle that I've found three out of the four colours I own which go together! Blace, green and red.
So good to be using old stash!
BIG WAFFLE SHAWL
Another Stitchnerd shawl, this one's a KAL, knit red! I'm using Countess Ablaze The English Gentleman DK in Temptress. It's a very easy pattern so again is reserved for Mihndless Knitting.
SHETLAND TRADER MKAL
I'm on my third attempt. I went for Easyknits Big Boy but it's a thick 4ply and I fancied a thinner 4 ply, so back to stash (which is why I spent Sunday doing very little knitting!)
I concentrated on Skein Queen and Knitting Goddess UK. A good few hours were spent winding yarn and getting into huge tangles. In the end I wound by hand. My winder is sticky and the table top swift kept falling off the table.
i chose to go with just two colours, a darker MC and lighter CC. I have no idea how this MKAL will turn out but those YOs at the beginning of the row int at a knitted on border and I'd like to knit that in the CC.
CC easy peasy as it's light and the only one I managed to wind. It's Britsock in Silver.
I chose two different MCs. Skein Queen's Tweddore in a burgundy colour and Knitting Goddess UK's British Wool and Nylon in Silver Ocean.
Six of one and half a dozen of the other. In the end I asked MrC to choose and he went iwth the Silver Ocean My one worry is that this shade has silver in it and it might mean that the contrast was sometimes lost, but so far it's OK. There may be bits where the row blurs into the next row but I'm happy.
Unfortunately no photos. Unfortunately I'm only about 1/3 of the way through the first clue and the enxt one's due out today!
So, this week I'll be playing catch up with the MKAL and knitting on Amulet as priorities. It would be grand to finish at least one more shawl this month!
