Wishes is no more. I finished the body on Saturday evening. And instead of going to bed I thought I'd make a start on the sleeves. Just a few rows so that I'd be set up to get knitting with my morning cup of tea. BAAAD MISTAKE! Too tired, and too much knitting on my lap. I put it down and picked it up and it casught on my charging cable. The needle pulled out halfway and as I tugged the kniting the stitches unravelled. I lost about 20 sttitches, starting at the last raglan increase. Sunday morning I put the safe stitches on a stich holder and tried to pick up the stitches. As this is top down and raglan, I had to start with the shortest strand at the bottom and make a stitch then work this stitch wit the next strand, Every toher row I had to make a stitch on the raglan line and work the rest. Very ifiddly to start off with but getting easier as I worked with longer strands over the next 30 or so rows. I had several attempts, spent a whole morning and part of the afternoon working on this but it looked scrappy. An untidy raglan and a gaping ladder where it joined the safe stitches as the yarn had stretched out a little.
I've been working on this for nearly two months. Tried Rowan's Summerlilte, then Wool Cotto n i pink and dark lime. So I'm totally fed up with knitting this. The pattern's great, loved the body but am just so done with the knitting. So I've pulled out needles and abandoned it.
The nearest summer stash was pulled out. I've gone for a quick fix. Aran yarn and a pattrn I know I wear and like knitting - Quick Sand. I've knitted two fo these already. In Stylecraft's Malabar and in Rowan's Summer Tweed. I wear both of these pretty much all through the summer. I've more Malabar, which is a great yarn. It's cotton wiht a little silk, easy on the hands, drapes well (it's a floppy cotton) and machine washable. MrC has chucked this in with the wash more than once and it's just fine. Also very reasonably priced. The colour is Mandarin, a soft orange. Not really a colour I'd wear, but this is a summer cardigan so I think I'll get away with it.
It's so weird working with 5mm needles!
So far going well. I've another 14 rows till separating the body and sleeves! I find the inc reases a bit fiddly. They'r the ones where you lift up the leg of the stitch below, I think a simple yarnover might look good, or a kfb after a garter ridge. I'm sure taht I'll knit another next year, so might try this out!

Sunglasses on!!
