My plan to get all my christmas knitting (accessories) done by the end of September didn't happen.
MrC has decided that he doesn't want mittens. He wants something smaler which he can keep in his coat pockets for emergencies. he walks around with his hands stuffed into his pockets, but in very cold weather his pockets are cold (!) and he'd like some fingerless mitts to wear with hands in pockets. We decided that I'd knit the top to fingertips so he an curl his fingers and keep them warm, but equally, he can turn down the tops and have regular mitts. I'm using Handsies, by Anne Hanson, It's sized from toddler to large adult, dk weight, optional pattern for the back of the hand (but I'm knitting lain). I've had this pattern in my ravelry library for years. Time to knit it!
Cowls, I've nearly finished another Simple yet Effective cowl for a Christmas gift. One more after this to go, Ready to move on from this pattern :)
Socks. I need to knit two pairs for Christmas, and have ony done one leg! 6 Fach too. A good job MrC likes thick socks! I may well wait until November to knit the second pair, as MrC is off to Berlin to viisit his son and will buy some thick sock yarn (his colour choice too)
My desire to knit something woolly (like a garment) is increasing as the weather cools, so I want to get these things off the needles, fast, I've had to keep away from ravelry and all its ennabling!
Man Hands by Shireen Nadir Is a good fingerless mitts pattern for men too Dawn and it’s free on Rav.
