Last weekend I finished bioth MrC;s sleep hat and Dust of Snow scarf. I'd decided to finish this early, as the stole was a bit narrow and I knew I'd use it as a scarf wrapped around my neck rather than as a stole draped over my shoulders. I didn't need long tails, so finished well before the end of the pattern. Probably about 70% done (though this is a complete guess as ve not measured the length and can't remember where left off).
This left me with 10 x 10g mini skeins of my Advent yarn. Boxes from 15-24. I cat on a 3 Color cowl.
Weeeelll.
Box 24 - not 10g. More like 5g. and I managed to get it all tangled up and knotted. This skein didn't even last to the end of ribbing!
Box 23 - just a few magic knots needed to connect the few knots I had left when I wound it up. but OK.
Box 22 - another bloody disaster. A HUGE thangle. I've spent four evenings just untangling. It has meant that the number of magic knots is mega. Four eveningt ot untangle and then knit 16 rounds of 144 stitches!
Very late last night I started Box 21. I opened the box and saw what looked like a whole 10g ball of yarn. Not so. A whole 10g, but lots of little tiny balls, must have tangled that skein too. I've managed to knot up the little balls, and then went fo rthe killer larger ball. It's disappeared! I've looked all over. On the chair, beside the chair, under the chair, in front of the chair, a cursory check of the living room. Nowhere to be seen! I'm only on round 8 if 16! I have one tiny ball of this colour left. Harumph.
As this is my only WIP, and I need a break form it, I'm going to cast on a quick baby knit. For no-one in particular, but it's always good to have back ups. I didn't declutter last weekend, but did a b it of stash rummaging to get out some aran and dk weight yarns for a quick baby cardigan. I just have to find a pattern. That might take a while.
