My grand plan for decluttering is to do a little bit each week. I'm sure if I manage to declutter one bag each week it'll amount to a significant declutter over one year.
This week's declutter was more of a tidy up. About two months worth of post shredded, a carrier bag of yarn and a ball winder. I'd really like to re-organise my yarn stash a bit, have less vacuum bags and buy some decent boxes. We'll see how that goes. Usually when I start doing this I end up just stirring the stash and not being ruthless with stuff that's no long er loverd. I usually pull out balls and skeins which I fancy knitting with, they end up in a big pile by my chair and I then have to find the correct bag or box to put them away again, months later. Really trying hard not to do this!
Knitting, I've only got two things on the go. My Dust of Snow scarf which is over halfway done now I have lots of long strnads, where i've not knitted with both yarns, and a huge hole! I'd dropped the double decrease stitch, and it ran. And ran. I could only hok the stitches together (it's so fuzzy!) and stitch them closed. Harumph. Never mind, I'm trying to keep an eye on the knitting and only knit it when I'm not tired.
The decond thing on the needles is a sleep hat, for MrC. I'm using mini skeisn of 4ply, the variegated ones, which I thought I wouldn't like in a shawl, but I quite like the effect. It's coming out much smaller than I htought though. I'm wrapping the working yarn around my little finger in a different way (as I used to!) and I'm sure my tension has tightened up... I'll see how it blocks!
