Last week was not a great knitting week.
MrC's sleep hat - this turned out far too small. My brilliant idea of knitting the child's size4 (due to my loose tension) but keeping the length for the Adult Large didn't work out. It was snug, even on my head. The hat was the right length -measured on the needles - but on a head with a snug fit the hat was too short!
Dust of Snow stole - I'm on the 14th mini skein now, but when I hold up the stole it's more like a wide scarf, I know that I own't wear it as a stole. It's just long enogh to wear as a scarf wrapped once around my neck. A very cosy scarf. So I've decided to stop now and use the remiaining ten mini skeins to knit a cowl, without the white kid mohair. It hides the individual colours and i'd like something which shows them off. The scarf is full of erros, but I'll keep this for myself, dropped stitches,, strands unknitted, and when I wear it i'll be thinking of Christmnas 2018 and remember that alcohol and knitting do not go well together :)
I've started two new projects.
Another sleep hat for MrC. This time I'm using the Sockhead hat pattern which will make it good knittng for weekday evenings, using some Regia sock yarn (so he can machine was it). I've cast on 128sts instead of 144sts and hope this will be enough.
The Advent yarn mini skeins are going into a 3 Color cowl. Unfortunately that frist mini skein got tangled wiht the Kid Mohair fro the stole and I had to frog and cut... I saved about 3g consisting of lengths between 12" and 24". Not a great start!
So my knitting this week will be the stole, the cowl and the hat,
I did a little bit more decluttering. I'm not being ruthless, yet. A pack of Jaegar's Mohair Art went to the charity shop. Veautiful colurs, but he scratch! I went through two boxes and antoher 600g found a new home. It doesn't make a dent in the stash. I'm still hanging onto those skeins which are special, even though there's a slim chance that I'll use it. The stuff going is stuff I know I won't sue, or in colours I don't like. I'd really like to empty at least two containers...
The other decluttering was rubbish. We have a ledge running around one side of hte bedroom. I found a dusty, empty reed diffuser which must have been there for years, some old cable which doesn't fit anyting, anymore, and old felted socks (odd socks). I didn't get around to sroting out the spice shelf and spice rack, but ran out of time. Next week!
