Better get this post written beore another week goes by!
I've been knitting but it's been a two steps forward, one step back type of knitting.
I've been knitting on my Lmeongrass jumper.
Roll back three weekends. to March 9th. At the cost of cooking and cleaning, I had a bery projuctive knitting weekend. I cast on the jumper late Saturday. By bedtime on Sunday I'd completed the yoke and worked 10" of the front, the only part which is patterned. At this this part you start the decreases and then knit the border, about 5" more of knitting, but you can also lengthen it here if you want. I tried it on and thought it might be a bit short, so left off on the front ready to start the back. Also a good time to be able to start mindless knitting for weedday evenings. Escept I pulled the needle out and had to frog back. A bit nervous as the stitches are loose and ladder run, fast. I spent the remaining weekday evenings sorting it out. One step back.
Two weekends ago. Tried on for length and decided to knit another inch on the body before completing the front and back to the start of the hem. Then it was border time. Each piec has a border starting at the underarm, across the bottom live stitches and up the osther side. By bedtime I'd worked the front border, ready to cast off. Then the next one step back/ OMonday I cast off, and near the end dropped the larger needle I was using to cast off. It zipped out, helped with an accidental tug on the CO edge. The rest ofthe next weeday evenings was spent TINKING back. I really didn't want to try to pick up ladders on the basketweave cable pattr, and I hadn't marked the corners.
One weekend ago (this past weekend_
Reknit the front borders, started the wsecond border. Happily picked up stitches on sude ... but why were the live stitchs very live and laddering???? Bloody cable holding the stiches has slipped out!!!
The third stp backwards. By bedtime last night I'd got them all on a needle and ready to knit. Picked up all of the running stitches (I hope) orked one row. I appear to have too many stitches, but I'll remedy that tonight. With luck I'll get the back reknit again and have the back border done by this time Sunday. I might even have one sleeve on the needles. I nearly threw in the towel, but I'm stubborn and am ploughing on. A bit fed up with this colour now!
