Sigh. A huge fail for March. Out of TEN goals there's only one which I accomplished - and that was #5 - continue with my jumper!
So April's gap;s are much the same as March knitting goals.
1 baby hat #1 - darn in ends and wash
2 baby hat #2 - ditto
3 baby hat #3 - ditto
4 knit Hyphen, another baby cardigan.
5 finish Lemongrass jumper.
6 start some socks
7 start a cowl or fingerless gloves or shawl :)
8 start a new garment
9 UPDATE RAVELKRY
10 take some dodgy photos with my dodgy phone camera
My first priority is to finish Lemongrass. I've spent most of March knitting, frogging, tinking reknitting and also untangling the yarn on this. I'm pig sick of looking at this yarn. It's not natural to spend so much time on one fairly quick project!
I picked up stitches for the turtle neck last night, then sleeves and a million ends to darn in (t seems). I'm not loving this jumper. I'm using Debbie Nliss Cashmerino Aran, which I usually love, but it's not grabbing me at this loose tension. The closed increases for the yoke are more like yarnovers, very obvious. Where I've picked up stitches for the side borders on front and back there are glaring holes. I've frogged and reknitted each border several times, and the edge stitches have stretched out. Its' the cashmerino and the loose tension, I suppose. Even 100% merino would have more elasticity than cashmerion. And the fabric looks like I've used a too thin yarn. I won't be wearing this outside, but will finish it and wear it indoors. It'll be good for next to skin wear, I'll see if it evens out after a few month's washing. Years ago, pre ravelry, I knitted a jmper in one of the then new and now discntinued RYC yarns. can't remember which one now. but it was very lightweight and with good yardage. I had the same problem, with the stitches stretching out at the sewn seams and picked up neckline. As it was worn and machine wasjed they evened out consideably. I'm hoping that this happens with Lemongrass. Another issue I have are the borders on the front and back. It's worked for about 2" a;pmg tje sodes amd bpttp,. with no increases at te corners, but I now wish that I'd knitted increases into the ribbing so the corners are properly squared. Still love the pattern but next time I'd sort out those corners and use a yarn in a colour I like and in a different. possibly a woollier yarn.
