Agnes is a finished object. Well, nearly. I've pretty much decided that the ribbon is too wide. Rowan specified 1cm wide ribbon, which is too wide, and is folding over, not nicely. I suspect Rowan's 'fancy ribbon' is something lightweight and gauzelike. Which would bunch up and not fold over. It's a very quick job to replace the ribbon, faster than sewing on buttons, so in my mind this is finished.
Agnes. October 2004 - 4/6/05. Rowan 4-ply soft. I followed the pattern exactly.
Sorry about the bright yellow and orange kitchen, down to Chris I'm afraid. It's the lightest place. This is a very good representation of the blue, I think. The flash tends to wash out the colour, and I haven't sat down with the booklet which tells me how to use the flash correctly)
I can't tell you how pleased I am at finishing this. Agnes has been sitting around in my wips basket for seven months! I deliberately didn't put this away, but left it out, and every couple of weeks I'd work another inch. Once I'd finished the back, the sleeves were a great motivator; short, moss stitch, a bit of detail to keep me from getting bored. And onto the front, I knew this was the last piece, which kept me moving.
I've also finished Scoop, but I need to get some halfway decent photos first. I'm not brave at getting outside and snapping pics of jumpers hung up amongst the bushes! Not in a block of flats, where half overlook the communal garden! Last time I tried that, Chris went onto the balcony and started shouting out. I'm certain a couple of curtains twitched! More on that next weekend I think!
Back to knitting.
My Chutes & Ladders six socks kal (hey, SSKALCAL!) - onto the heel flap now. I've decided to continue the pattern down the top of the foot.
Can't you just imagine this pattern on a jumper?
