June's Mystery Blanket is done.
One new square this time
Meadow Stripe. Excuse my irregular flowers, I don't sew or embroider at all.
Reading Debbie's message this month there's six new squares to come!
This month's square placement meant that the first and last two strips could be sewn together. Just the middle three to knit now.

It's really coming on now. We have another 19 squares to go, but I'm seriously thinking of putting this on hold until September whilst I concentrate on SOS, which starts on 21st June, the start of Summer, and lasts for 10 weeks. I'm not sure if I can face 15 squares in September, we shall see how I feel about sock knitting!
Sunday we had a power failure. I awoke to find Chris had gone to the boat, was a little puzzled by the cold kettle (visions of Chris leaving at 5am), even more puzzled by the lack of hot water. I initially thought it might just be a tripped switch, but all seemed ok. I phoned Chris (on my nearly flat mobile as the two phones in the flat weren't working due to no power) to find out that there'd been a fire in a local electricity sub station, and the whole region was without power, no trains running, no traffic lights working. No computer, TV, radio, broadband. Thankfully I have gas, so I could boil up water. No shower! I managed to mix 'n' match my 3mp3 players with my 2 sets of speakers (don't ask, some are rechargeable so I had to watch the battery power).
Anyway, a great chance to get out the sock stash and log it all ready for SOS. I had to get this done whilst the light was good inside the flat. I'm planning on doing a flash the sock stash in the five days prior to the start of SOS - so look out next Monday, 16th! I have five boxes of yarn, that's a box each night, plus a few remnants hiding in the koigu stash (who knew I had so much!).
I have too much sock yarn. Loads bought and not tried. The truth will out next week!
I want to wrap up a few more things before SOS starts.
1) the damask top - just another inch to do and the sleeves
2) picnic squares - 8 - which would complete strips 5 and 6 - and sew them together.
3) neutral tailoring is done! I just need to get photos. This won't really interfere with sock knitting, but it drags out projects. I did take some last Saturday, but the dark purple Calmer is looking blue! I will try a few more times, but may have to admit defeat and just take photos of a blue Neutral Tailoring.
Hmmm, maybe I can fit in one more thing?
